Like many cities across the country, Norfolk, Virginia is in the middle of a streetlight conversion. In contract with Dominion Energy, they are replacing 30,000+ high pressure sodium streetlights with new LED lights. There are huge energy and environmental benefits to LED lights, but they must be implemented properly. The current lighting plan being offered to The City of Norfolk by Dominion Energy is not acceptable and we are advocating for it to change

Work We Are Doing

Citizens for Responsible Lighting is working in three key ways.

Community Engagement

We would appreciate the opportunity to share our presentation with your civic league, business association or other community group.

We have met and continue to meet with local politicians, city managers and other decision makers to educate them on LED conversions and urge them to consult experts.

The VRSC is comprised of groups like ours all across the state of Virginia. Read the group's position paper by clicking here
